Nore Valley visited the school on Wednesday to deliver our eggs for the Chick Hatching Project. It is a great chance for the children to learn about the life cycle of chickens and take ownership over the eggs and chicks once they have hatched. There was great excitement as the 7 eggs were carefully placed in the incubator.

The incubator project is a simple 4-week process. There is a 3 week incubation period during which someone will come to check on the eggs during the incubation – “candling”). The chicks will live at our school for approximately one week after hatching – everything is provided to keep them safe, warm and happy. Then the chicks will return to Nore Valley pet farm where they live a happy life.
