Well done to the boys who came 2nd in the Carlow division of the first ever Cumann na mBunscol Primary School Sports Quiz.

Flew to you: Colin Travers visited the school in early March with his owls and hawk . He gave a fun, educational presentation about the birds. It was a great chance for the children and teachers to get close to these beautiful birds and learn some facts about them. It was very interactive as the boys asked lots of questions and they also got the opportunity to hold one of the birds.

Debating: Congratulations to the school Debating Team: Isaac Sheehan, David Vlas and Owen Doyle who took part the Final of Concern Debating Competition for schools in the South East, against Newtown Dunleckney in Kilkenny City Hall. World Book Day As we built up to World Book Day in early March the school organised for author & illustrator Alan Nolan to visit the school on Tuesday 25th February. Alan gave 3 hour long workshops with the mainstream classes exploring the narrative writing genre and gave tips on how to add illustrations to a story. It was a really entertaining educational workshop and was enjoyed by both students and teachers.

World Book Day took place on Thursday 7th March. Lots of students dressed up as their favourite character and the students took part in a range of book related activities during the day.
