There was great excitement yesterday when the Mobile Farm came to St. Brigid’s N.S.
Farmer Tom brought chickens, ducks, geese, baby lambs and their mother, a pig, a calf and a goat to visit our school. The Mobile Farm is a unique outdoor classroom that is used to educate children via a hands-on learning experience. The aim of Agri Aware’s Mobile Farm is to educate the children about the different farm animals on Irish farms and their role in producing quality food.
We learned lots of interesting, new facts about farm animals. We got to feed the animals and interact with them. We also got to name the baby calf. The name chosen was “Dubh”. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
