Wellbeing Week took place in St. Brigid’s NS last week.  The aim of this week was to foster positive mental health and wellbeing in our school and wider school community. While wellbeing activities are integrated into the school day throughout the year, we took some extra time to highlight the importance of wellbeing during this special week.

It was a week full of activities such as mindfulness colouring, breathing exercises, sensory walks around Bagenalstown, gardening, painting, practicing gratitude, fruit tasting, random acts of kindness, giving compliments, watching videos to discuss themes and Drop Everything and Dance.

2nd, 3rd and 4th classes also had a Heritage in Schools workshop on the school grounds with a herbalist, Greta. They collected plants and made fabric prints with them.

As part of our Wellbeing Week, there was no written homework to complete. We had a Wellbeing menu to chose from. It was great to see lots of wellbeing activities at home from the pictures sent in.

We also had a Wellbeing Week slogan poster competition, with some great positive slogans and artwork submitted.
